Hi, I'm Imogen Sloane
I write emotional women's fiction about
the quiet, complicated realities of life, where grief, love, and resilience are never far apart.

My fiction lingers in the quiet spaces between
heartbreak and healing. My stories explore
women's lives as they navigate grief, change, and
the slow rediscovery of hope while rebuilding their worlds,
one fragile step at a time.
Before turning to fiction, I explored storytelling in many forms.
I have written two stage plays that have been produced
and have even dabbled in stand-up comedy.
I'm drawn to the turning points that quietly reshape a life. Moments of loss,
love, and resilience that alter the path forward. My characters often find
themselves standing between what has been lost and what might
still be possible.

Why I Write
Stories seem to find me everywhere.
In quiet moments on the beach and
long walks through the forest,
in the sound of birds early in the morning,
or somewhere along a stretch of highway
on a road trip across Canada.
People, especially, are an endless source of inspiration.
The way they carry things, the things we
don't say, the small moments that pass
between us—there's always a story there.
I don't sit down to invent something grand.
More often than not, I'm noticing something
small and wondering what's beneath it.
And that's usually the moment I put pen to paper.
Life Beyond the Page
When I'm not writing, I can often be found walking along a shoreline or wandering through a dog park with my husband and our two labs, Ladybug and Cricket.
More than once, I've come home with a pocket full of smooth stones or bits of sea glass. Small reminders that stories, like the tides, shape us slowly over time.

Some stories find us quietly—and stay with us long after we've turned the last page.
If you'd like to read
more, I've created something special for you.
No Spam. Just a story.
